Getting started
Before installing Jobster theme, you need to install the latest version of WordPress. You can download it from here. Once you downloaded and set it up, you are ready to install the theme.
Theme installation
In order to install the Jobster theme, you need to follow the next steps:
- Login in WordPress admin area.
- Choose Appearance > Themes from the left menu of the admin panel.
- Click on Add New button.
- After Add Themes section opens, click on Upload Theme.
- Choose the theme zip file from your computer (you find the .zip file inside the package from ThemeForest), click Install Now and wait until the theme is uploaded.
- Activate the theme by clicking Activate.
- You will be able to see the theme installed in the Themes section, as seen in the image below:
Required plugin installation
Jobster theme requires a WordPress plugin — Jobster Plugin — in order to function.
- After the theme is activated, the following message will be displayed at the top of the screen:
- Click on Begin installing plugin.
- Wait until the plugin installation is done.
- Activate the plugin.
NOTE: The plugin is also available for manual installation inside the package received from ThemeForest.
Import demo

Check the Recommended PHP Configuration Limits FIRST for import to go through:
max_execution_time 600 memory_limit 128M post_max_size 48M upload_max_filesize 48M
You should contact your web hosting support and ask them to increase those limits in PHP.ini to those values.

Inside the received package there is a folder called Demos that contains several XML demo content files that can help you getting started.
Choose the demo that you like and import it by using this tool: Tools > Import > WordPress.
Setup
If you choose to import one of the content demos, there is a quick setup method:
- Go to Jobster admin menu and open the Theme Setup section.
- Choose the demo that you previously imported and click on Run Setup button, as seen below:

If you choose not to import any of the demos, you need to follow the setup steps.
Before setting up the theme, you need to make some basic WordPress setup:
- Go to Settings > General and change Site Title, Tagline, WordPress Address (URL), and Site Address (URL) with your own personal data, as seen in the image bellow:
- Click Save Changes.
- Go to Settings > Permalinks and change Common Settings to Post name, as seen in the image below:
- Click Save Changes.
Homepage setup
For homepage setup, please follow the steps below:
- Go to Pages > Add New.
- Choose a page title like Home.
- Compose your homepage content inside the page editor.
- Set the Template to Full Width if you don't want to have the sidebar or Default template if you want to have the sidebar.
- Choose a Header Type for your page hero from the Header section of the page. More about the header types here.

- Click Publish.
- Go to Settings > Reading and change Your homepage displays to A static page and select from the Homepage dropdown list the homepage created above — Home. Check out the image below:
- Click Save Changes.
Blog setup
For blog setup, please follow the steps below:
- Go to Pages > Add New.
- Choose a page title like Blog.
- You don't need to write anything inside the page editor.
- Set the Template to Default template.

- Click Publish.
- Go to Settings > Reading and change Your homepage displays to A static page and select from the Posts page dropdown list the blog page created above — Blog. Check out the image below:
- Click Save Changes.
Menu setup
For menus setup, please follow the steps below:
- Go to Appearance > Menus.
- Now let's create the top menu. Type the name of the menu (you can name it Top menu) inside the Menu Name field and click Create Menu button.
- Check Top primary menu option under Menu Settings > Display location.
- Click Save Menu button.
- Now you can add pages and links from the left side panel to the newly created menu.
Menu options
Besides the default options that WordPress offers, with Jobster theme there are available new options for the menu items, like adding an icon, or set a parent item as column.

In order for the theme to have all the available functionality, it requires a list of pages having the following templates:

Job Search
This page template is used for the page that displays the jobs list, including the search form and filter. For this page you also have additional settings for changing the layout.

Job Search External APIs
This page template is used for the page that displays the jobs list, including the search form and filter, with data sent from 3rd party APIs. For this page you also have additional settings for changing the layout.

Job Categories
This page template is used for the page that displays the job categories list, including the search form and filter for jobs. For this page you also have additional settings for changing the layout.

Company Search
This page template is used for the page that displays the companies list, including the search form and filter. For this page you also have additional settings for changing the layout.

Company Dashboard
This page template is used for the page that displays the company account summary. The page having this template can be accessed with company account only, option available under the user menu.

This page template is used for the page that enables the company to edit the profile details. The page having this template can be accessed with company account only, option available under the user menu.

Theme settings
Jobster offers multiple sets of options to help you customize it to your needs.
Access the section by choosing Jobster from the left menu of the admin panel.

General
In General section you can set global general settings like Disable Page Preloader and Location Field Type. Go ahead and set them. Click Save Changes

Jobs
In Jobs section you can set options related to Jobs pages, like Jobs per Page, Featured Label, Job Page Layout, Show Similar Jobs on Job Page, Show Salary on Job Cards, Hide Salary Field From Submit Job Form, Similar Jobs Title on Job Page, Similar Jobs Subtitle on Job Page, Allow candidates to apply to jobs without being registered, Candidate has to Signin Before Applying to External Job URL, Allow Companies to Add New Job Locations, Set Job Description Field Mandatory, Set Type of Employment Field Optional, Set Experience Level Field Optional, Display Job Expiration Date, Job Validity Period, Alert Companies Before Job Expiration Date, Job Date Format, Enable Job Posting Approval Process, Enable Job Alerts, Enable Media Library for Job Description Editor, Display Job Details for Authenticated Users Only, Allow Anonymous Jobs Posting. Go ahead and set them. Click Save Changes

Jobs Custom Fields
In Jobs Custom Fields section you can set your own custom job fields. You can also change the fields and their position in page by clicking Save Changes

Pending Jobs
In Pending Jobs section admin has the option to Approve or Reject job posts that are not posted yet and require review. To enable job posting approval process, see this section.

Companies
In Companies section you can set options related to Companies pages, like Companies per Page, Company Page Layout. Allow Company to Add New Profile Locations, Photo Gallery Max Number of Files, Hide Email Address. Go ahead and set them. Click Save Changes

Companies Custom Fields
In Companies Custom Fields section you can set your own custom company profile fields. You can also change the fields and their position in page by clicking Save Changes

Candidates
In Candidates section you can set options related to Candidates pages, like Candidates per Page, Candidate Page Layout, Candidate Page Access Restrictions, Gallery/Portfolio Max Number of Files, Allow Candidate to Add New Profile Locations, Resume, Hide Email Address. Go ahead and set them. Click Save Changes

Candidates Custom Fields
In Candidates Custom Fields section you can set your own custom candidate profile fields. You can also change the fields and their position in page by clicking Save Changes

Blog
In Blog section you can set options related to Blog pages, like Blog Page Title, Blog Page Subtitle, Articles Page Design, Show Related Articles on Blog Post, Related Articles Title on Blog Post, Related Articles Subitle on Blog Post. Go ahead and set them. Click Save Changes

Authentication
In Authentication section you can set authentication options, like Disable User Authentication, Terms and Conditions Page URL, Candidate After Sign In Redirect Page, Company After Sign In Redirect Page, Disable Candidate Registration, Disable Company Registration, Enable Candidate Registration Approval Process, Enable Company Registration Approval Process, Sign In Image, Sign Up Image, Forgot Password Image, Account Type Modal Image, Enable Google Authentication, Enable Facebook Authentication. Go ahead and set them. Click Save Changes

For how to obtain Facebook App ID and Facebook App Secret, read this article.. After you created the app, in the App Dashboard, choose your app and scroll to Add a Product Click Set Up in the Facebook Login card. Select Settings in the left side navigation panel and under Client OAuth Settings, enter your redirect URL in the Valid OAuth Redirect URIs field for successful authorization. Indicate that you are using the JavaScript SDK for login by setting the Login with JavaScript SDK toggle to “yes”, and enter the domain of your page that hosts the SDK in Allowed Domains for JavaScript SDK list. This ensures that access tokens are only returned to callbacks in authorized domains. Only https pages are supported for authentication actions with the Facebook JavaScript SDK.
Pending Users
In Pending Users section you can approve or deny a Company or Candidate registration. You will get new users listed in this section only if you have enabled the approval process here.

Footer
In Footer section you can set footer options, like Copyright Text and social media URLs. Go ahead and set them. Click Save Changes

Colors
In Colors section you can set the colors for the theme's components.

Membership & Payment
In Membership & Payment section you can set the options for membership plans, pay per job posting and payment systems like PayPal and Stripe.

In order to have paid job postings, you have 2 options: Pay per job posting and Membership plan.

Pay per job posting
This option allows you to have companies pay each time they post a job. Here you can set Job Posting Price, Featured Job Posting Price, Number of Free Job Postings, Unlimited Free Job Postings, Number of Free Featured Job Postings.

Membership plan
This option allows you to have companies pay for membership plans subscriptions. You can add membership plans going to Membership Plans > Add New Membership Plan in WordPress admin menu.
For payment systems you have two options to choose: PayPal and Stripe.

PayPal
In order to have pay per posting or membership plans features using PayPal you need to fill in the above fields related to PayPal API. This information you'll get from PayPal website. First you need to have a PayPal Business account. Then follow these steps:
- Access PayPal Developer website here.

Go to Dashboard > My Apps & Credentials and click on the Create App under REST API apps section.

Enter your app name and choose your Sandbox developer account. Notice that you have a Sandbox version (for test purpose) and a Live version of the app.

Fill in the Return URL field under the SANDBOX APP SETTINGS. This is how you obtain the return URL: Go in wordpress admin to Pages and create a page having the PayPal Processor template page and copy its Permalink. In this section you also have the Client ID and the Secret listed at the top.

For the API fields, if you want to use the test account, go in PayPal Developer to Sandbox > Accounts. For the Live version, you'll get the API fields from here: www.paypal.com Tools > All Tools API credentials and request your API credentials (API signature) under NVP/SOAP API integration (Classic) section. Stripe
In order to have pay per posting or membership plans features using Stripe you need to fill in the above fields. This is how you get the info:

Create a Stripe account and login to the dashboard. Navigate through the Developers API keys menu to get the API keys.

Go to WordPress admin dashboard > Pages > Add New and create a new page having the Stripe Processor template, like this:

Go to Stripe dashboard > Webhooks and click on Add an endpoint

Fill in the Endpoint URL with the permalink of the stripe processor page created at step 2. Click on Select events and add these 3 events from the list: payment_intent.succeeded, charge.succeeded, charge.failed

Job Board External APIs
Jobster is supporting 3rd party job board APIs.

Email Templates
In this section you can set your own custom HTML emails that are sent to the users.

Companies
Jobster offers the possibilty to add companies types which can be assigned to user accounts and be able to add job offers and message the candidates.
Companies can be added manually from the admin interface or they can create an account through the front-end registration process.
Here is how you add a company using the admin interface:
- Go to Companies > Add New Company in WordPress admin menu.
- Fill in the company name, add a short description using the text editor, enter the details.
- Choose a Company Industry from the right side panel.
- Choose a Company Location from the right side panel.
- Check Allow comments option from Discussion section on the right side panel, if you wish the company to receive messages from candidates.
- Upload the Company Logo and Company Cover image.
- Assign a user in the User section at the bottom. Make sure first that you have created a user in Users section.
- If you want the company to be set as featured, check Set as Featured option from the Featured right side panel.
- Click Publish button.

Jobs
Jobster offers the possibilty to add jobs both using the admin interface and in front-end having a company account.
Here is how you add a job using the admin interface:
- Go to Jobs > Add New Job in WordPress admin menu.
- Enter a job title and description using the content editor.
- Choose a job location, category, type and level from the right side panels.
- If you want the job to be set as featured, check Set as Featured option from the Featured right side panel.
- Upload a Job Cover image.
- Enter the Job Details.
- Assign a company from the dropdown menu in Company section.
- Click Publish button.

Candidates
Jobster offers the possibilty to add candidates types which can be assigned to user accounts and be able to apply for jobs and message the companies.

Subscribers
Jobster theme offers the possibility to manage a Subscribers list. Subscribers can be manually added or they can subscribe from front-end through the Subscribe page module.


Testimonials
Jobster theme offers the possibility of adding testimonials that can be included in pages as visual module.

Depending on the Template chosen for a page, Jobster provides a variety of page header types.

Elementor
If you choose to design your pages with Elementor, Jobster comes with 16 custom widgets. Here are the instructions on how to use the widgets:

First, you need to install Elementor plugin going to Plugins > Add New. Search for Elementor on the keyword field and click Install. Once the plugin is installed, click Activate.

Create an Elementor page: go to Pages > Add New and set the Template to Full Width. See the image below:

Click on the Edit with Elementor button in order to activate the Elementor editor.

After the Elementor editor is loaded, you'll find the Jobster widgets on the side toolbar under the Jobster category.
Job Board External APIs
Jobster is supporting 3rd party job board APIs.
Here is a list of the supported systems:
Careerjet
In order for you to have jobs data imported from Careerjet system, follow these steps:
- Go to admin dashboard > Jobster > Job Board External APIs > API System and set it to Careerjet.
- Set the Careerjet Locale and the Careerjet Affiliate ID. More about getting the Affiliate ID here.
- Click Save Changes.

Jobster theme also provides the possibility to include the Carrerjet search jobs form into page headers. In order to enable this, you need to go to the page Header settings and check Show jobs search form option and set the Search System to Careerjet. Please see below:

Translation
Both Jobster theme and Jobster Plugin are translation ready, providing the .pot language file. We recommend using Loco Translate plugin for translation.
In case you are using Loco Translate plugin, go to Loco Translate > Themes > Jobster > Click the Language from the list > Relocate tab > change to System. NOTE: This setting is only for the theme, not the plugin.
